Dr. Pappas utilizes a sophisticated network that
SOHO
helped to design and assemble.
“I told John what I needed and he worked with me to create
a network that meets my needs and is as cost efficient as possible.
He’s a fast study and solves problems quickly,” said
Dr. Pappas. The resulting sophisticated network of diagnostic
equipment integrates digital photography, streaming video and
a laser retinal scanner to display a complete picture of a patient’s
retina on a monitor.
“This
allows me to visually show my patients what is happening with
their vision, and what we can do for them,” explained Dr.
Pappas.
SOHO has
also set up a network for the practice management side of the
Center for Retinal Diseases and Surgery. This includes linking
all of the servers and work stations in a network. A Virtual Private
Network (VPN) connection gives Dr. Pappas and his office manager
access to the network from their respective home offices. Privacy
and HIPPA regulations are critically important for medical offices,
and SOHO has incorporated a firewall and special security systems
into the network. “John is responsive to my staff and easily
accessible whenever we need him,” adds Dr. Pappas.
